SHOT Show 2011 – Wrap Up
Did a lot of walking, some eating I probably shouldn’t have. Fascinating. The week following SHOT Show was well deserved recovery time. After the cluster-love last year, I was more prepared to network and talk. I think I took less photos as a result, however. Though I wasn’t necessarily impressed with the firearm announcements this […]
Women at SHOT Show 2011
This post does not imply an accurate representation of the variety of women here at SHOT Show.
SHOT Show 2011 – Colt LE901
“The weapon for any mission,” the Colt LE901 is a multi-caliber defense system. The lower receiver utilizes magazine adapters to convert “a single serialized lower receiver into multiple caliber, barrel-length, and operating system configurations.” Swapping uppers is really straight forward. I could see how a magazine adapter may fit to switch from 5.56mm to 7.62 […]

The trigger group is the […] Geissele SSA Combat Trigger.” Mark LaRue of LaRue Tactical has helped Californian’s quite a bit in our fight against the most […]
SHOT Show 2011 – Troy Industries/Viking Tactics
The Brokos Belt by Viking Tactics is pretty cool. “Lightweight, comfortable and adaptable to a wide range of holsters and accessory pouches… made by warriors for warriors.”
SHOT Show 2011 – Original SOE Gear
John Willis and Andrew Nelson of Original Special Operations Equipment Gear displayed their product line; one piece of kit caught me eye.
SHOT Show 2011 – Woolpower
I love wool socks and base layers – especially if they are merino. I’ll have to try these out.
SHOT Show 2011 – Nemesis Arms
It’s the US Survival Rifle on steroids. California legal. David Ives demonstrates the disassembly the Vanquish when you’re on the go. This is the 20″ barrel. Other barrel lengths are available depending on your mode of carry, i.e., lunch box or suitcase. Check out their website at http://www.nemesisarms.com/.
SHOT Show 2011 – United Sportsman’s Youth Foundation
“The United Sportsmen’s Youth Foundation (USYF) is a 501(c) 3 not for profit organization. All funds generated will be used to secure and manage Local Huntable Habitat, and teach our kids about the outdoor sports.”
SHOT Show 2011 – POF-USA
I spoke to Mike at the Patriot Ordinance Factory booth. As I introduce myself as a native Californian, I ask about their policies about shipping assembled rifles direct to FFL dealers. Mike related to me that he’s working on it and POF-USA is very interested in meeting the demands of the California market.
SHOT Show 2011 – Cimarron Arms
Mounted shooting has always fascinated me. It’s more of a equestrian sport, but I may have to try it someday. At the Cimarron booth who “offer the highest quality reproductions of Colt and Winchester replicas.”
