SHOT Show 2011 – Tactical Solutions/Black Dog Machine

Tactical Solutions’ GLOCK conversion kits has finished nicely as opposed to the kit displayed last year. I spoke with Kevin from Black Dog Machine and he gave me the run down on the future of .22 AR magazines.  Modular by design, the fiber glass filled feed lips can be replaced [though it’s highly unlikely that […]

SHOT Show – Media Day 2011

See some reports here.  See SHOT Show Day 1 2011. Nothing to note that’s new or exciting. I don’t think there were as many exhibitors out this year compared to last year; or I was completely lazy and lacked motivation. I’m convinced that I may buy the Ruger LC9, however. Young Manufacturing has the ICE-15, […]

Compound Bow

Hanging out with a few friends in Lake Havasu City, AZ, we threw some lead and arrows.  65 lbs compound bow with a cool archery trigger release.  I don’t think I’ve shot a compound bow since I was 12.  Brought back some fond memories. Hm…

GRPC 2010 – Sunday

It was a half day packed with more information.  Tied up loose ends and met more individuals.  Checked in to see if I won an M1 Garand or a signed GRPC 2010 poster; no win.  Chatted it up with Tiffany (Imptwitch), graphic designer,  in San Francisco and had the best Vietnamese sandwich – ever.

GRPC 2010 – Friday Evening

Saw the usual suspects.  Met new Calgunners and spoke with Chris of West Coast Guncast.  He related to me that they have quite the foul mouth, but I’m going to sit down and catch up anyway.  Just finished “editing” photos.  Going to get some sleep now.

Finding other gunnies on the job

24/7, I’m a gunnie seeking other gunnies, but I resist the temptation and do not discuss firearms outside the office.  However, if the other party brings it up I sing like a bird.  I met a gentleman this afternoon who happened to be a gun owner himself.  He’s primarily a duck hunter, but he wanted to […]

Shasta Co. Day Trip

The blog was on hiatus for awhile to catch up with personal matters.  Don’t worry.  I had time to play – I certainly have a lot to catch up with. Went on a day trip to visit Burney Falls, CA.  It was a very easy, 1.2 mile hike at McArthur Burney Falls State Park.  I […]
