Kahlua Ice Cream

I think the last time I made ice cream was in 1st grade – there may have been another occasion as a cub scout.  We used plastic baggies instead of a fancy ice cream machine, freezing my fingers numb.  It was a total failure if we tasted salt in our handmade ice cream; likely the […]

Brazilian Cheese Bread by Simply Recipes

Instead of Tapioca four, I used Machiko flour.  Mochiko flour is the same stuff to make mochi.  With mochiko,  I think it’s a tad more chewy than it should be, but they seem to turn out well.  Give it a try.  It’s actually one of the easiest recipes. Easy Brazilian Cheese Bread by Simply Recipes.  […]

Shasta Co. Day Trip

The blog was on hiatus for awhile to catch up with personal matters.  Don’t worry.  I had time to play – I certainly have a lot to catch up with. Went on a day trip to visit Burney Falls, CA.  It was a very easy, 1.2 mile hike at McArthur Burney Falls State Park.  I […]

Friday Foodie

Though it’s not an official theme, it might as well be. I was going to make trout with a brown butter sauce recipe this evening; however, I couldn’t find any trout.  I went with a pierogi recipe instead.  The stuffing tasted good on its’ own; however, it was on the bland side with the dumpling […]
