It appears David at RNS made it to Idaho just fine. He had company, after all. Looks like he has his position all set. Look at the couch!
Phil at Random Nuclear Strikes has an AAR, Joe is recovering and Barron has more video.
Barron posted his compilation of videos from the 2009 Boomershoot. Pretty sweet. I believe the bloggers at Random Nuclear Strikes are on their way this week. Unfortunately, I will not be attending this year; but I do plan to enjoy my time in the deserts of Nevada this weekend. I’ll be there in spirit! Oh […]
JD, ErnestThing and Squeaky may find humor in the last photo. What do you think, David?
Surprise. I managed to write a few words today. I can’t believe a month has passed since Boomershoot 2009. I have yet to publish anything worthwhile to read. Sure. I have pictures, but it’s hardly any justice to Boomershoot 2009 without a narration. Anyway… I’ve had a few strange and interesting cases at work within […]
I made it home safely yesterday. I haven’t posted up pictures yet obviously; however, that will be rectified soon. It appears that JD from Ballistic-Deanimation, Alan of SnarkyBytes and Squeeky has a few posts up regarding their Boomershoot 2009 experience. I hope to post my epic narrative soon. On another topic, I’ve been reading about […]
Officially, Boomershoot 2009 ended yesterday evening. We departed from Orofino, ID at approximately 0800. David and I made it safely to Firebase Blue on a sunny/drizzly afternoon. I managed to sleep 2/5 of the way there. Kudos to David for driving. Phil, his wife, David and I went out to eat at an incredible seafood […]
Blow stuff up. Clean up. Eat better than normal Mexican food. Edit pictures @ Tribb’s. Sleep.
Gene Econ Clinic, Second Day. Field of fire. Boomershoot 2009 dinner. Back @ Tribb’s. Edit pictures. Sleep.
Shooting Clinic, etc. Gene Econ administers a rifle clinic before Boomershoot to give rifle persons an opportunity to learn how to read wind and understand projectile behavior through the use of their equipment and positioning. Understanding the physical, mental and technical aspects of firing a rifle should concern any gun owner. I will discuss my […]
Today was Gun Blogger Day at Boomershoot 2009. I was about to blog live from the Boomershoot site; however, my computer battery died. I may need a new one when I arrive back home. Anyway, the following was the schedule for the afternoon: 0900: Shooting Line Preparation (Staff) 1000: Gun blogger orientation 1015: Tour of […]
Tired again. But here are a bunch of photos to make up for that.
Great weather. The traffic wasn’t horrible. I managed to take some pictures on the way up. Here are the pictures for today. More discussion later.
Not going to make an exhaustive list of everything I packed. I hope there’s enough room… haha. The black bag is the heaviest…
For the next several hours, I’ll be running equipment checks on everything I have for Boomershoot 2009. David will be swinging by at approximately 0200 hours on Tuesday morning. I’ve been told there will be Internet access. Be sure to stand by for video, pictures and written media right here, at The Packing Rat.
Boomershoot 2009 is less than three weeks away – including Gun Blogger Day and the rifle clinic. According to Joe’s report from the Boomershoot site, the snow appears to be sticking around. I’m hoping it will warm up a bit, but I’ll be prepared to have fun etiher way.
I’ll just have to find a quick way to reload my finances instead… I am well aware that I may have went overboard… Oh. Here’s the “new” boomstick.
Just got off the phone… The deal to sell my P7M8 seems pretty solid and will be sold tomorrow afternoon. Local sale, my terms – appears very smooth. I don’t have an excuse to back out of this one. It’s a fantastic pistol and a lovely example of elegant machinery; however, I still have many […]
