After shopping on Amazon not looking for what I wanted, I stumbled upon Life Currents’ pot rack. Inspired what the couple did, I set off to Home Depot to make my own to mount under my unfinished cabinets.
Instead of the 1 1/2″ malleable iron they used, I opted for the 1/2″ pipe.
– 2 x cap
– 2 x tee
– 1 x 45 degree elbow
– 2 x flange
– 2 x 1 1/2″ nipple
– 2 x 6″ nipple
– 2x 4″ nipple
I prepped the surface with a metal etch bath, followed by light sanding. I spray painted the assembled pipe with Rust-Oleum Hammered Copper spray paint.
I mounted the rack particle board, so I used some wood glue with the screws into pre-drilled holes.
This is an excellent and inexpensive idea for the novice home chef. I like the fact that you painted it to somewhat match your kitchen decor. I’ve noticed that you have very long pot handles, which brings it down a little further than i’d like. But all-in-all it works. “KUDOS”.
