Manually opening and closing the garage door got old, so I bought a new Chamberlain LiftMaster 3265 model on ebay from SpringkingUSA. It’s a 1/2 HP, chain drive motor attached to a one-piece 8″ t-rail. It came with two 3-key remotes, multi-control panel, and a combo-key pad. The primary feature folks should be looking for is the rolling code technology.
For my first install, it went smoother than I thought – it took me about 4 hours. I credit YouTube for the preliminary installation tips, and the best factory instructions I’ve encountered in a long time. I recommend reviewing several tips on garage door security at ITS Tactical, too.
That is right that days of manually opening and closing garage door are old. today most of us use remote to operate our garage door. Video and tips on garage door is good.
Thanks for the link to garage door security! The house we’re looking at has those (your) kinds of garage doors…
It is amazing how online resources like youtube can teach people how to get things done. It is a more productive way of sharing ideas.
I remember my first installation of garage doors it took me almost a whole day!
