After a year long hiatus from blogging, and sparse photography, hiking, and all other things I consider fun, I needed a pseudo-reset with nature.
Notwithstanding personal fulfillment, the absence of nature was noticeably affecting my mood. Lesson learned to not avoid taking personal outdoor day trips every now and then. Work/life balance – right?
Visited Marshall Gold Discovery Park’s Johnstown Falls starting at a trailhead off of Bayne Rd. Albeit a short hike, I spent a good hour listening to rushing water, drowning out other signs of nature, and getting sprinkled by droplets as I lay on cool and dry, water weathered rock.
I also got to play with a Panasonic-Leica 20mm prime lens for the M4/3 camera. I should have ditched the kit lens sooner. I have an Olympus 45mm prime lens for SHOT Show, but I’ll be saving up for a 12mm lens for more nature shots.
