It’s been awhile since I’ve taken the Marline 25MN for a workout.
The Marlin 25MN is a microgroove 22 magnum rifle with a 7 round magazine. If I recall correctly, its’ counterpart, the 25N, is simply the .22 S/L/LR version. I originally purchased it to hunt rabbits with, but opportunities have been sparse. The rifle is a wonderful bolt action, nonetheless. Inexpensive and accurate. When I first took possession of the rifle I sanded it down and rubbed linseed oil on the wood stock. I mounted a Leupold FX-II 4x33mm scope. Rings are unknown – they might be Leupold 3/8″ ringmounts (high). It’s been awhile since I purchased them. The Super Sling is from Outdoor Connection.
I’m entertaining the idea of threading the muzzle at ½” x 28 TPI.
Fun rifle isn’t it. I have had fun with mine for years. My son shot it every now and then but had o great love for it until a year or two ago when his shoulder was hurting after shooting the shotgun a bit too much, He switched to that and just started firing about as fast as he could at 50 yards. Did pretty darned good too. Our is scoped with an old Tasco scope. No Sling though.
All the best,
GB
Absolutely. Sometimes I wonder why I don’t take it out as often!
You should come out this summer and do some more rabbit hunting…. it is not as easy as it seems with all the high brush out here. But as you experienced, it is fun
