Some folks subscribe to the thought that it’s safer to carry a firearm without a cartridge in the chamber. I think it’s an indication that better training and mental toughness should be prescribed. Nonetheless, there will always be reasons why an individual may choose to carry without a round in the chamber for situations I’m not exposed to. So I’ll never discount it as a method. I will always encourage a live firearm with strict adherence to Cooper’s four rules.
