Historic Old Sacramento Museum

Checked out the Old Sacramento Underground Tour.  Pretty nifty and the guide was entertaining.  Old Sacramento is elevated at least 9-12 feet from the original foundation using jack screws and good ol’ prisoner labor over a period of 10-15 years!  Couldn’t take photos, however. Many of the retrofitted basements are occupied and the areas available to tour are private property.  Though we didn’t spend a lot of time underground, there was a good balance of founding history.

    Was there a historical writeup on the 1911?

      Unfortunately, nothing that we don’t know already. It was just a piece to complement the WWI display.
