I was in a rush to buy a holster for the M85 Taurus several month ago. Personally, I wasn’t convinced spending a lot on a holster for a gun I didn’t plan to carry often, so I went with a $49.95 holster from High Noon Holsters. Whoops.
The Bare Skin variation is “made of a specially extruded Laminate Skin with a vegetable tanned leather backing. It features a leather-like grain texture. With its sleek, stylish good looks, super-tough, low-maintenance finish, steel-like strength that resists abrasion, nicks, scuffs and is fade-resistant to maintain its sleek look through years of use and abuse.”
Bottom line; I didn’t like it. You should pass and buy a molded holster.
Slap two sheets of fake leather cut in the shape of the desired pistol, and call it a holster. That’s what this is.
It passes the shake test and retention is fair, but for $40 additional dollars, I’ve been very happy with the Galco Concealed Carry Holster.
It was a pain to break in, I don’t feel particularly confident in the retention adjustment, and it’s not very comfortable either. If I can’t sell it, I’ll try to keep it as an example of what I do not like. Who knows – someone else may like it and make that decision for themselves.
That is my experience with the same holster I bought from High Noon for my CZ-75. I have lots of their leather, and love it. I will NOT buy another one of those shapeless monstrosities again.
That’s a bummer a didn’t work for you. Thanks for sharing and saving us some regret…
