I think the last time I made ice cream was in 1st grade – there may have been another occasion as a cub scout. We used plastic baggies instead of a fancy ice cream machine, freezing my fingers numb. It was a total failure if we tasted salt in our handmade ice cream; likely the result of being a little too rough during the churning process.
I found a Sterling Ice Cream Freezer sitting in the cupboard several months ago. I put it off and didn’t have any desire to use it until I read someone’s post on Kahlua. I found this Kahlua Ice Cream recipe and gave it a try this evening. It’s ripening in freezer right now, but I can tell you it’s pretty darned good.
