KCRA reports on the increase of CCWs in Sacramento Co.
Sheriff Scott Jones of Sacramento Co. appears to be fulfilling his campaign promise to be more permissive when it comes to granting CCW permits. This is wonderful news and I appreciate how he holds his ground on the matter despite the unwarranted concerns of the interviewees. Scott Jones is doing the right thing by the community. Thank you, Sheriff Scott Jones.

I give that a big 10 stars haha
The Sheriff’s Department has been issuing CCW Licenses at a very fast pace since early Summer of 2010. The “new” process was formalized in October of 2010, when Sheriff McGinness stipulated to “self defense” being good cause in order to have a lawsuit dropped against the County of Sacramento, and his office.
They still look at your background very closely as a means to deny you a License, but they can not deny you on the basis of “Good Cause” if yours is self defense. Right now their approval rate is close to 95% of applications turned in. That means that out of every 40 submitted, 34 are approved, and that’s every week.
