Did a lot of walking, some eating I probably shouldn’t have. Fascinating. The week following SHOT Show was well deserved recovery time.
After the cluster-love last year, I was more prepared to network and talk. I think I took less photos as a result, however. Though I wasn’t necessarily impressed with the firearm announcements this year, and especially disappointed with GLOCK’s troll, I had a wonderful experience walking around the show and meeting a small segment of the gun blogger/writer community.
Richard and Aaron, Guns, Holsters and Gear.
Caleb and Shelley, Gun Nuts Media.
Babbs, Women Outdoor News.
Gil, a Freelance Writer.
Magali, http://www.crepin-leblond.fr [Maybe TPR will go international?]
Kathy Jackson, Cornered Cat.
Tom, My Gun Culture.
Regarding firearms, I look forward to shooting the Ruger LC9 and Sig Sauer P290. Kimber Solo Carry looks appealing, but I have little hope of getting my hands on one. It’s likely I’ll have my hands on an LC9 sometime in February, and I cross my fingers for an opportunity with the P290.
If I were to buy one thing from SHOT Show 2011, it would be the Nemesis Arms’ Vanquish rifle. Coolest gear I came across was Original SOE Gear’s micro rig. Close second was my discovery of the LokSak [I’ve lost a phone to water].
The business cards were a success. It pays to get it done right with a good design. One of the lovely ladies might get a tattoo of one!
Next year, I may want to try more with video.
