Drop-in Trigger Pull Kits for S&W J-Frame

There has been some chatter about a new drop in trigger pull kit for the S&W J-frame from Apex Tactical Specialties.

Judging from the gossip, the kit will likely include the Apex XP firing pin and a set of springs that will provide a clean, reliable 8.5 lbs. trigger pull for duty/carry revolvers.   Given the quality I’ve observed with Tactical Specialties’ parts in an M&P 9mm  semi-automatic pistol, only the best is expected.

In addition to the XP firing pin and the spring set, another version of the kit may include a billet rebound slide.  The rebound slide in most modern S&W revolvers are MIM; therefore, any polishing must be very light.  Removing material beyond the hard casing will expose the soft metal.  With a solid Apex Tactical rebound slide, extensive polishing may be performed.

I’ll keep my ear to the ground if I hear anything new.   Maybe in a few weeks, the rumor will be confirmed.

Or you can buy a weapon that doesn’t need trigger upgrades like the Ruger LCR .357 🙂

From what I’ve heard, out of the box reliability for the LCR is fantastic. Though I wish I could get my hand on the LCR .357 magnum here in California, I may have to settle for the .38 Special. =(

      Or just move all together.

For those who want to keep their S&W’s for some drop in parts, this kit may be of some interest.
