You must stay tuned for information by attending the 2010 Gun Blogger Rendezvous to discover if there will be that possibility. [Fooled you, didn’t I?]
As reported by Mr. Completely, True blue Sam arranged for Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. to sponsor Gun Blogger Rendezvous 2010. Details are still in the works, but Mr. Completely will keep us posted.
Lori Petoske, the Marketing Communications Manager will be traveling all the way from Enfield, Connecticut to join in on the fun.
My favorite Ruger is the Mark III 22/45 – minus the magazine disconnect.
Try out Bea’s 22/45 at the range. Zeke installed a Volquartsen hammer, trigger, and sear, and took out the detent on the slide release. You can slingshot the bolt down now instead of depressing the release, and you roll the gun over, pull back on the bolt, release, and it stays back. It is much easier to operate, especially for fingers that over 70 years old.
Oh my. I’ll have to take a look at that!
How do I take OUT the detent on the slide release? I’ve got a 22/45 Mark III with a slab barrel. Bought it about a week ago and the button to release the slide is very hard to do. Of course I can’t just let the bolt fly closed and my fingers and my wifes are getting sore too! If you can help I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Bob Hamilton
I still haven’t look into it yet, but I’ll email you when I do the tutorial for it.
I was going to attempt to make a video, but I’ve been a little short on time. Nonetheless, you can give a shot using these instructions at this website.
