Looks like we passed you on our way to Boomershoot. That’s some impressive country.
Indeed it was. Did Mrs. Whitewolf enjoy the drive?
Yes she did. It was absolutely fantastic, and the only reason she’s flying in to Boomershoot next year is time constraints. But we plan to do the drive again for non-Boomershoot, photo-tourism reasons. She never got to see Idaho 55 except for the area around McCall, and neither of us have seen the Sawtooth Valley (Stanley, Idaho) which looks absolutely spectacular.
I’ve got to get me some BLM maps to see if the locations I’d want to build a vacation house in the mountains north of McDermitt are BLM or private land. Not a lot of water, so in reality that’s probably a pipe dream, but the views are miles long and amazing.
For well-watered country that’s utterly heavenly with long views of snow-capped mountains, the three valleys around Midvale, Cambridge and Council Idaho on Idaho 95 are hard to beat. Until you get over to Idaho 55, of course….
