I had the intent to hike Rock Creek Falls; however, I didn’t feel comfortable hiking alone due to weather conditions and other safety concerns related to the area. Elevation at that location is only 2600 ft. and I have yet to run into anyone at Eldorado National Forest, but I wasn’t about to take any chances.
I still had an itch to get out there anyway, so I selected a hike that was short enough to bail if the weather got bad enough. Hidden Falls Regional Park has several trails, but the main attraction is the waterfall. It was only 2.8 miles, round trip.
Rain was drizzley most of the time, so I didn’t get too wet. The TAD Gear Predator jacket held up well. I do need to pick up a beanie that isn’t made out of acrylic though. I also had a difficult time keeping the camera lens dry. At least these photos aren’t as foggy as the pictures I took at North Fork Dam.
