Cartridge shortage is not news.

Welcome to 2008 Ms. Foster. Cartridges have been in low supply for quite sometime. Though it’s admirable to write about firearms, please at least use the correct terminology. I refer you to the National Shooting Sports Foundation for terminology and fact reference.

NEW ORLEANS – Bullet-makers are working around the clock, seven days a week, and still can’t keep up with the nation’s demand for ammunition.

Bottom line, a bullet is not a cartridge just as a clip is not a magazine.

“That is going to cause an upswing in ammunition sales,” said Larry Keane, senior vice president of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a trade association representing about 5,000 members. “Without bullets a gun is just a paper weight.

I’m curious if that was an error in part of the journalist… or maybe I’m just being uber picky.

Well, it’s an Ass Press writer… don’t expect any kind of accuracy.

Actually, considering the source, I’m surprised the story didn’t contain some kind of “facts” like “these COPKILLING SUPERULTRADEADLY ASSAULT MURDERBULLETS spontaneously just go around on killing sprees!”
