This morning, I went out for a short hike. I referred to a simple, but thorough web page on local Reno, NV hikes. This particular hike is chartered to a waterfall at Hunter Creek Canyon approximately 4.6 miles from the trail head.
0.0 park at end of Woodchuck Dr
0.5 road forks. Take left side
0.7 road T’s. Turn right
0.9 ford
1.0 dam and beginning of canal
1.2 National Forest sign
2.5 trail forks. Take lower trail
4.0 cross three steams (number may be less during dry periods)
4.6 water fall and trail continues (I have not charted the extended trail).
I took plenty of pictures and as you can see, it was beautiful. I also walked around the block to find food and do some exploring. Not too extensive, but you can see the last four pictures below.
- I was using a 24″ torso from this corner to estimate range from my room.
- I was using a 24″ “DO NOT ENTER” sign and 24″ fire hydrant at this corner to estimate range from my room.
