In my hands…

… is a Para USA LDA Limited .45 ACP pistol.  It looks like a 1911 model.  It feels like a 1911 model.  But it’s a Para.  I gave it a good clean,  dry practiced from the holster and manipulated the trigger several times – it’s definitely not a 1911.  I can’t expect this to be a 1911.  It would be unfair.  However, I’m not convinced that I will become a fan of the LDA trigger given my preference for 1911s.  I should be at the range sometime this week and give it a go to see what happens.

This thread is WORTHLESS without pics!!!

And IMO, you should seriously think about hurting the gun’s feelings. I mean, if you don’t like the trigger, it’s really not fair to the gun for you to keep it, whether it gathers dust in the safe or not. Let’s say you do take it to the range from time to time out of guilt, why, you’ll probably end up thumb-cocking it for each shot, and how lame is that? No, no, you want to send it to a good home, a DA-only home, where it will be loved and cherished….

Yes. You’re certainly right – though I don’t necessarily think I’m going to hurt the Para’s feelings. I’ll be gentle.

I assume you have a suggestion for a good home?

BTW: To the Para’s credit, it’s a DA only trigger that’s a hell of a lot better than all guns I’ve tried. That and I wouldn’t be able to pull back on the hammer anyway; there isn’t a spur. Maybe I have yet to appreciate the DA feature, but I’m more inclined to believe that I don’t have a “cocked and locked” phobia.
