Shocking Social Commentary

I went to see Cloverfield this evening. That’s right – I went to see a movie on opening night. As expected, I mostly observed minors out on a Friday night. Lots of them.

My experience at the movie theater lately have been unpleasant. It wouldn’t be unusual to hear pointless discussions, getting kicked in the back, cell phones going off or babies crying. Each time, I can recall asking them politely to shut their trap. To no avail, most of them carried on with their rude, loud and obnoxious self.

Not this time however. This movie experience was awesome! The movie was good, people were quiet, screamed when appropriate, and talking was non-existent! I was very pleased with those I shared my movie experience with. Bravo for a polite society!

The best way to escape that behavior in the theater is to go to a matinee when school is in. I like the 11AM-ish shows on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Usually, there are only four or five people in the audience. It’s lovely.

Once upon a time, I used to go to the movies via matinée. Not only did I enjoy the sparse crowd, I totally digged the price!

Thanks for the comment Prudie! Hope to have you stop by again =)
