I disabled my Facebook account on Friday. I was reading status updates more than anything productive, or beneficial. Like magic, I found myself doing other things in lieu of the time-sink since. I still have the Facebook fan page through a dummy account, though. Consider becoming a fan if you’re not already.
I resumed reading On Food and Cooking: The Science and Lore of the Kitchen. It’s a very interesting read [for a text-book anyway] if you’re intrigued about food, or why certain ingredients are prepared [this way], rather than [that way]. It’s essentially a book on the chemistry and physics of cooking with good bits of history.
I’ve resumed making rats, too. I did get side tracked and wanted to experiment sewing with zippers. Rather than draw up a new design, I attempted to copy Special Operation Equipment‘s tool bag because I know the design is sound, and their craftsmanship is worthy striving for. I did spend all day on this stupid bag, however. I didn’t butcher it, but I struggled measuring, cutting, and determining order of assembly. Five broken needles and semi-presentable product later…

DIY on left (not for sale). SOE tool bag on right.

See you there tomorrow, yeah?
