This is a review of a utility bag I recently purchased. It’s main purpose is to lug around my firing range equipment, or as a smaller alternative to the traditional backpack. I wanted accessibility as well as style. The Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack was the golden ticket I was looking for.

The pack features several pockets, zippers, awesome convenience and durability. Made out of strong Cordura as well as excellent stitching, it also possesses the ability to repel water - this bag can take the abuse. The strap features an a removable should pad as well as MOLLE loops closer to the bag. On the body side of the bag, it also has pads for comfort against the body and helps prevent excessive chaffing. You also may notice a Velcro belt loop that can be used for bag stablity.

On the main flap, one would believe it is a traditional buckle to keep everything safe. On the contrary, the buckle boasts a locking mechanism to prevent accidental release.

Beyond the cover flap, the main compartment of this bag utilizes a draw string to keep stuff in as well as out. Inside there are two separation sleeves for important papers or other items that need to be isolated.

Towards the rear side of the bag when worn, a water bottle up to 32oz can be placed and secured with a Velcro strap. The cool thing about this is that it’s easily accessible without having to undo a strap from a backpack or struggle to place it right back in place.

A secondary compartment for other items. Probably good for a deck of cards, or wallet.

Pocket for cell phone or other smaller items. On the outside, additional MOLLE loops exist for additional pouches.

This bag was constructed under the idea that it was going to be used for tactical purposes. With that in mind, an immediate accessible compartment was made to use in conjunction with a Velcro adaptable pistol holster.

Here in California, a carry-concealed weapon is uncommon/rare occurrence.I am a law-abiding citizen. The photo below is for demonstration purposes only and this is a practice that I may or may not perform. If you do not have the correct paperwork, do not carry and conceal.

Here are some photographs of the bag on me.

I took the bag to the State Fair and it was VERY comfortable to wear and exceeded my expectations in a bag. Holding at least 10lbs inside the back including the water bottle, the bag proved to be useful and ergonomic.

If you’re interested in purchasing this bag, it can be found at SKD Tactical, or OP Tactical.

I would like to thank Military Morons for making the initial review of the bag that ultimately help make my purchase decision in a small utility bag.
